Hutchison expects EU antitrust complaint

Hutchison Whampoa said it expects to receive an antitrust complaint from European Union regulators over its planned €1.3 billion purchase of rival mobile-phone operator Orange Austria. The European Commission told Hutchison it may send a statement of objections listing regulators' concerns with the deal as soon as next week. Regulators extended an investigation into the deal in June over concerns that it may reduce competition by cutting the number of mobile-phone operators in Austria to three from four. Bloomberg
