90pc of apps on mobiles are free

Nearly 90 per cent of the apps downloaded for use on mobile devices worldwide are free, and 90 per cent of the paid apps cost US$3 or less, research firm Gartner said. The report said worldwide mobile app downloads would surpass 45.6 billion this year, with Apple's App Store - the largest source - accounting for 21 billion. AFP
