We see that Andrew Bruce has become head of Gilt Chambers, taking over from Gerard McCoy. McCoy's decision to step down has triggered speculation that the move is related to another high-profile career change that we mentioned at the end of last month. We wrote then that the Director of Public Prosecutions had expressed more than a passing interest in becoming a High Court judge. Should this come to pass, and not everyone is convinced it will, it would leave vacant the post of DPP.
