LCD firm A.U. Optronics fined US$500m over price-fixing

Taiwanese company AU Optronics has been finedUS$500 million and its former president and executive vice-president jailed for three years for their leading roles in a global LCD screen price-fixing conspiracy.

The sentences, which were handed down on Thursday, are among the harshest penalties ever given in an antitrust criminal case.
