AMD plans to cut up to 20pc of workforce


Advanced Micro Devices, the second-largest maker of processor chips for personal computers, plans to cut as many as 2,340 jobs, or about 20 per cent of its workforce, a person with knowledge of the matter said. California-based AMD is cutting costs to help cope with sagging demand for PCs that rely on its processors. Bloomberg
