Japan's Softbank paying US$21b for 70pc stake in Sprint Nextel

Japanese mobile operator Softbank said it will buy up to 70 per cent of Sprint Nextel, the third-largest US carrier, for US$21.1 billion, the most a Japanese firm has spent on an overseas acquisition.
