Once-red-hot yuan funds lose heat as currency flattens

Yuan-denominated funds, once in big demand by investors keen to punt on an appreciation of the mainland currency, have lost their appeal.

As the pace of the yuan's appreciation slowed this year, many investors redeemed their funds, managers said, and some 20 new yuan funds launched under the yuan-denominated qualified foreign institutional investors (R-QFII) scheme earlier this year failed to lure investors.
