South Korea's economy grows 1.8pc yr-on-yr in Q3

South Korea’s economy grew by 1.8 per cent in the third quarter over a year earlier, down from 2.3 per cent growth posted in the second quarter, central bank officials said on Tuesday.

Media department officials at the Bank of Korea said the estimate was made as of October 11, when it published revised economic forecasts for the 2012-2013 period and could change when it publishes advance estimates on Thursday.

They said the figure was contained in its written answer to a lawmaker but could not provide other details such as the growth rate on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
