US fund manager sees huge business potential in Asia

Despite the uncertainty haunting global markets, Jeff Greenberg, the chairman of United States investment manager Conning, still believes it is the right time to expand into Asia.

Conning - a firm that dates back a century and describes itself as a global provider of asset management solutions, risk and capital management services, and research to the insurance industry - set up a joint venture in Hong Kong last week with Taiwan-based insurer Cathay Financial Holdings.
