Olympus up almost half a percent after new forecast

Olympus Corp surged 4.8 per cent to 1,304 yen, rebounding from a more than four-month closing low, after the camera and endoscope maker lifted its annual net profit forecast 14.3 per cent to 8 billion yen, boosted by a so-called extraordinary item. Olympus has risen 30 per cent so far this year, after slumping nearly 59 percent in 2011 because of a US$1.7 billion accounting cover-up in one of Japan’s biggest corporate scandals.
