Hong Kong stocks up 1.35pc at break

Hong Kong shares climbed 1.35 per cent by the break on Wednesday, in line with a strong rebound in Shanghai, which hit a four-year low in the previous session. The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 294.20 points to 22,094.17 on turnover worth HK$52.64 billion (US$6.80 billion).
