PetroChina lays pipeline for China’s 1st refinery in southwest

PetroChina has completed laying a crude oil pipeline from northwest to southwest China, the company said on Friday, paving the way for the start of the country’s first major refinery in the landlocked southwest region.

The 880-km (547 mile) oil pipeline from Lanzhou in Gansu province, to Pengzhou in the landlocked Sichuan province, has a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day (bpd), PetroChina’s parent company CNPC said on its website.
