Asian stock markets fell on Thursday, as accumulating evidence that global growth is sagging dampened investment enthusiasm.
Markets were also weighed down by some disappointing US corporate earnings and worries about a possible drop in demand for Apple’s iPod and iPhone.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 index fell 0.5 per cent to 13,318.33. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index shed 0.2 per cent to 21,521.29. South Korea’s Kospi dropped 0.3 per cent to 1,918.11. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.7 per cent to 4,972.10.
