Chinese firms abroad yield mixed results
Chinese manufacturers are exploring new horizons to tap distant markets and cut costs but some have been less lucky than others in straying off the beaten track.
While manufacturers have long been moving their production facilities from the Pearl River Delta to neighbouring countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia to save costs and dodge tariffs and other trade barriers against Chinese exports, some, such as mainland textile maker Texhong, ventured all the way to Uruguay.
