China Eastern disappoints with underlying loss

China Eastern Airlines last night posted a profit jump of 44 per cent for 2014, but after adjustments for one-off items it made a loss of 230 million yuan (HK$291 million), compared with adjusted profit of 1.2 billion yuan a year ago.
