Tokyo stocks open down more than one per cent

Tokyo stocks opened 1.42 per cent lower on Monday, following a sharp fall on Wall Street on Friday. The Nikkei 225 index was down 128.16 points at 8,874.52 in early trade. On Friday, the Nasdaq was pulled down two per cent in a tech stock rout led by Apple and Microsoft after disappointing earnings spooked investors.
