Valemax enters China port, first time since Beijing banned such ships

A Valemax ship of Brazilian iron ore miner Vale entered a port in eastern China this week, according to shipping data and industry sources, marking the first time that happened since Beijing banned them as of January last year.

Vale Malaysia, measuring over 400,000 deadweight tonnes, entered the Lianyungang port in China’s Jiangsu province on Monday and left on Wednesday after unloading its cargo, according to Reuters shipping data and sources with knowledge of the matter.
