Chinese shares fall almost half per cent

Chinese shares were down 0.47 per cent in early trading on Monday, hurt by falls in US stocks on Friday and worries over weak third-quarter earnings from Chinese firms, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 10.05 points to 2,118.25.
